Carina QLD 4152

Why Carina?

Carina is a well-established middle-ring suburb located between 6 and 8 radial kilometres south-east of Brisbane CBD. The suburb consists predominantly of a mix of post war timber and brick homes (making the suburb an attractive option for those wanting to knock down and build) as well as a large number of contemporary townhouse complexes.

The suburb borders Carindale, Carina Heights, Cannon Hill and Camp Hill, and has two arterial roads (Old Cleveland Road and Creek Road) which offers great connectivity to the western or eastern side of southern Brisbane. Westfield Carindale is the closest major shopping centre being only 2-3km’s away.

Carina is also surrounded by a lot of greenery with two big reserves on either side of the suburb, the Seven Hills Bushland Reserve and the Minnippi Parkland reserve. The suburb is always in constant demand and has had long term consistent performance.

Carina is a fantastic, much cheaper alternative to neighbouring Camp Hill and there’s no doubt the ripple effect has already started to take over, with a lot of older post-war homes being renovated or removed and rebuilt entirely. We see great long term potential in this area as developers also move into the suburb and rebuild new homes throughout.

If you are considering buying here, it is important to consult with a specialist Carina buyers agent who can help you navigate the multiple hurdles within the area and assist in targeting the very best locations for the right price.

Demographics

Carina’s demographic consists of younger families and couples without children as residents between the age of 20 and 39 are the suburbs dominant age group. Due to the amount of medium density zoning that has allowed for a large amount of townhouse complexes to be developed, the suburb continues to attract entry level home buyers and young professionals.

Some pockets of Carina contain a number of government housing properties meaning the gentrification could be a lot slower in those particular areas.

Health, Education and Schooling

Carina’s closest hospital is Greenslopes Private which is only 5-6km’s west of Carina and the Mater Private and PA Hospitals are also within a 20 minute drive.

The suburb has multiple state schools, such as Mayfield State School, St Martin’s Catholic Primary School and San Sisto College Secondary school for girls. The nearest government secondary school in Carina is White Hill State College in neighbouring Camp Hill.
