Tighes Hill NSW 2297
Why Tighes Hill?
Tighes Hill is one of Newcastle’s original suburbs, bordering Throsby Creek on the southern edge. It is also bordered to the east and west by arterial roads, however the centre of the suburb contains many renovated older style cottages and terraces which are very popular with residents looking for easy access to the city and north, while enjoying a quiet village-style atmosphere. This has made Tighes Hill a trendy inner suburb, with more modern townhouses starting to appear, as the gentrification of the suburb continues.
60% of the population of Tighes Hill falls in the 20-59 age range, with many singles and young professionals looking for an inner city lifestyle that may be a little more affordable. Around two-thirds of the locals are owner occupiers.
