Merewether Heights is a very small area of around 15 streets, bordered mostly by bush reserve, but close to the coast and local beaches. The area is more undulating than the flat coastal suburbs, with large prestige homes on sloping blocks, many taking advantage of coastal and bush views. The suburb is quiet, with very little traffic passing through the residential areas. Most traffic passes along arterial roads around the edge of the suburb.
