Lutwyche has a friendly community feel which has evolved over the last decade. This area has seen one of the biggest changes due to the newly ungraded Lutwyche city, gyms and the many cafes which have opened. It has a feeling of gentrification with all the new infrastructure. Lots of new young people have moved into the area into new units however, the character of the suburb remains thanks to the protection of the local Queenslander houses. Lutwyche is situated about 6 kilometres by road from the Brisbane CBD and has easy access to major hubs of employment eg. City, Airport, Hospitals, Chermside due to a large network of nearby road infrastructure. The area also benefits from having a bus which connects straight into the CBD as well as train. It’s a very centrally located suburb and has a range of nearby amenity. The area is dominated by units and townhouses which make up about 74% of the suburb with only 25% being houses.

The large amount of units in Lutwyche means that only about 31% of the suburb is made up of families, 50% are couples and 20% are single parents and other. Due to the large number of new units the age bracket which dominates this area are the 20-40 year olds.

Nearby hospitals include Prince Charles Hospital, Royal Brisbane and Woman’s, Chermside Day Hospital North West Private, St Andrews War Memorial Hospital, Brisbane Private Hospital. School wise, the area falls into either the Wooloowin State School or Windsor State School catchments and secondary school is Kedron State High School. There is a range of private schools within the nearby vicinity including St Margaret Anglican Girls School and St Rita’s College and Holy Cross Catholic Primary School & St Mary of The Cross School.
