The Junction borders the beachside suburbs of Merewether and Bar Beach, but also contains one of the most popular inner-city shopping villages. The homes of The Junction are quality, many are renovated older style, but some modern architect-designed residences are appearing. There are only around 350 houses and 100 units in The Junction. To be within walking distance of The Junction cafes and so close to the coast makes this small suburb somewhat exclusive.
