Tennyson is a small and reasonably unknown riverside suburb bordering between Graceville and Yeronga. Whilst quite a small suburb comprising only around 200 dwellings, a large portion of these are subject to flooding. King Arthur Terrace is the prestige road running alongside the river with some of the highest valued property in Brisbane. Tennyson is also home to the Brisbane Tennis Centre which hosts the Brisbane International each year in January and while there are around 200 houses in Tennyson, the apartments now comprise about 40% of the suburb. Tennyson is also home to The Brisbane Golf Club which is one of Brisbane’s most highly regarded golf courses.

Tennyson has quite a diverse population base with no one category dominating the statistics. It is a suburb more popular with couples and families for the housing market however the unit market is predominantly singles and retirees as the units are large waterfront units with generally view of the CBD or the tennis centre.

Tennyson is within a short drive of approximately 10 minutes to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Mater Private and Royal Childrens Hospitals in Annerley/South Brisbane. Schooling is combined with Yeronga and the suburb is home to the very well regarded Brisbane Golf Club which is one of Brisbane’s top courses. With great public transport including buses and train, access to the private schools of Brisbane Boys College, Churchie and Somerville house is simple. Finally, Tennyson forms a part of the renowned cycling route in Brisbane known as the “River Loop” which is a 40km bike ride that Brisbane cyclists would ride on a regular basis.
