Corinda is a suburb in Brisbane’s inner west located on the banks of the Brisbane River. It forms part of the Chelmer to Oxley corridor connected by Honour Avenue and Oxley Road. Being based on the river, part of the suburb can be partial to flooding however on the other hand, Corinda is home to some beautiful prestige houses boasting views and plenty of space. In total, Corinda has approximately 1785 properties with stand alone houses making up 73.7% of that figure. Similarly to its neighboring suburbs Sherwood and Oxley, Corinda has its own dedicated train station providing direct access to the Brisbane CBD.

With the surrounding amenities of Cafes, shops and parks available to locals, Corinda is an obvious choice for families. This is evident by families taking up 49.3% of the suburb. However, unlike its neighboring suburbs where the age group in Graceville and Sherwood is predominantly 20-39, Corinda’s most prominent age group is 40-59 which shows more of a trend to established families with children more likely attending the surrounding secondary schools as opposed to younger families. Further factors attracting families to the area are the Corinda Horse and Pony Club, Carrington Boat club and the Corinda public swimming pool.

With more established families being the main trend in Corinda, education available would be a key driver. Corinda State School is the government catchment primary school available to locals and Corinda state high school is the secondary Government catchment school. Private schools within a short 15 minute train journey are Brisbane Boys College located in Toowong, St Peters Lutheran College located in Indooroopilly and St Aidens Anglican Girls School. All three schools rank extremely highly amongst Queensland private schools. Within a 15 minute drive is the Wesley Hospital and the University of Queensland.
